Some years ago, a classmate of mine (Lily, I believe it was) brought us some gifts to class. She brought colourful bracelets made of used newspapers. It was called Bead4Life. Mine was red in colour. I treasured it until I misplaced it. It was brought all the way from Uganda to Boston, Massachusetts, USA. What a journey. What's more interesting and enriching was the story behind the women who wrought (old English :)) this art. It was very good art, to think that it was produced from paper. It felt like plastic. These Ugandan women were committed to ending poverty. They wanted their children to go to school in order to improve their own lives. What else can I say here?
Click here to read more about these great women and make them your esteemed choice for beads that make a meaning. Thank you.
