This is the digital age when many people do a lot on the internet. Gone are the days when all research was done in the library. Most research is still done in the library peering at volumes of books and materials. Today, however, much has been done online with many people writing just for the internet, creating e-literature. With blogging, though, writing has gone a new high level. Many never would have been writers are now successful bloggers. I envy them.
Blogging is of two types - private and public. Yes, of course there are manifold ways to classify blogs but I have chosen these two ways simply because you either write about yourself or you write about others. What I mean is that some bloggers have used the cyberspace to do what would have just been manual diary entry on the internet. And the fun part, they get to share this with others. I have read a few of these personal blogs. In the United States, most people write personal blogs. They share their lives with family and friends. This is kin to Facebook but of course, there's opportunity to monetize their writings. I have read a few of those too and others entered by fellow Nigerians. I had no idea one could use web platforms like Blogger to earn a living, lol! Enter public webloggers (bloggers). I like the Bloggess . She's my fun stop personal blogger. Look her up. She's an author too.
When it comes to reading entries on public blogs in Nigeria, I have a few that I enjoy.
Of course, there's Linda Ikeji. This isn't an entry on what I love or don't love about blogs Nigerian and otherwise. But let's say that I categorize Linda's blog as a public blog, because she's always talking about other people and hardly about herself or events in her own life except her cars :). Good for her, she's makes a fortune "stalking" people on the internet. Lol! I'm bringing my two pounds to learn her trade. Hopefully, she won't ask me to bring a white hen, ten kola nut, a piece of George wrapper, two white eggs, and....You know it's the going in trade, this blogging and it's not easy accommodating an apprentice - a blogger wannabe.
Whether a blogger chooses to do private or public or both - hybrid, it's usually fun with pictures. Bloggers have learned that pictures keep their fans happy. Seeing is believing. I love writing. My blog is hybrid - I'll talk about you and me. I love hybrid cars. Hopefully, if I'm of good behaviour hubby will buy me a Prius. I hope to keep you happy on this blog - Orielm Express. Hop on board.
