This Would Have Been Another ISIS Story But...(concluded)

Festus came into the main road to find a man looking into what appeared to be a ditch. He came closer slowly as he had also seen a car parked close to the side of the road. As he approached the figure, he began to make out his figure and in no time he discovered that it was Daniel. Daniel? What would he be doing in this place and so late? Festus increased his pace and was soon standing beside his colleague and peered into the ditch too. As he looked intently into the dark ditch he made out what appeared to be the figure of a woman. Leniana was in the ditch with a cloth over her face.
"I met her in the ditch. She was probably drunk. She had fallen in while trying to vomit."
Festus stared at him in disbelief. "I didn't push her in but I got the cloth over her face to keep her there and quiet." Daniel said as he looked around and found a spot on the road to sit down. He was very angry even though he appeared to have made a sport of the woman's careless incident.
"I went to her house," said Festus. "I saw her housekeeper, Dulu. Leniana had gone out to one of her friends' hen party and that explains why she's so drunk. Well, I collected the documents from Dulu."
"Eh!" Daniel jumped to his feet as if he was stung by a scorpion. "You retrieved the folder? You mean that I won't be sacked anymore? Just like that?"
"Yes, just like that. Well, I told the housekeeper that I had met with Leniana at the Club and she said that she would make the folder available to us at her residence. She possibly thought that I would be meeting with her boss at the Tocknet Hill Club. I played my card well. It wasn't easy, ol' boy. You should have seen how I beat the security with my swag."
"Swag indeed. Let me see the folder." Festus complied and Daniel grimaced. "This is pure luck. In fact, this is divine grace surmounted. In fact, I think that it's divine opportunity. It's like jamming your luck when you went to church and the pastor sowed a seed in your life."
Festus insisted that they wouldn't leave Leniana in the ditch or by the way side so they bundled her out of the ditch, removed the garb in her mouth, uncovered her face and set her in her car. The men decided to wait out of sight to see if anybody would reach her. After about fifteen minutes, a police car on patrol drove to the woman's car and tried to revive her. It appeared that Leniana came to and gave them her address.

Daniel had been aggrieved. He was tempted to think of murdering the saboteur, Leniana, who had almost cost him his job and lifestyle. Festus was relieved that he didn't have to risk a sack, which would have deterred his plans for his future. Leniana learnt her lesson. She had been greedy. She would have been killed depending on who was the aggressor. This would have been an ISIS story but the flowers were tender. They let the butterfly be because sooner or later it would meet its untimely death.

These four-part blog posts are excerpts from *Flowers and Butterfly* a work in the making. It's not to be copied, reproduced or duplicated for any other use except for entertainment and not for commercial purposes. 'Flowers and Butterfly' could have also been a children's literature but some things are not given to young people because they are too tender to contemplate such, except you want to catch them young with good or ill. Ill if you are like many terrorist groups. Thanks for reading and I hope that you had fun.

  1. Superb post! I like it very much. I am a writer focused on career and physical development to spread more issues and tips to develop and works through professional resume writing service. And gardening is my hobby and I love flowers very much. The more often we see the things around us - even the beautiful and wonderful things - the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds - even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less.
